Piper ~ My hot mess… | Orlando Children’s Photographer
This past Saturday…Piper and I were laying in my bed..all snuggled up ..watching a kick it episode of Max & Ruby…she decides to crawl down and heads into my closet..she’s plundering.. Piper?? nothing…she’s plundering…Piper?!..nothing..then she appears..she had gotten into my bag ‘o hats and scarves…she pops out of the closet and says..”Hey mommy..look at me..I’m a HOT MESS..wanna take my picture?? Hand on hip…lips pooched out..How could I resist?! She ran and got her boots on..saying..”I need to be like Sayler…” I tried to take her out on the pool deck..but, NO..she said…we needed to go in the car..somewhere. I threw her in the car and ran down to the field just outside of our neighborhood…of course when we got there..she had other plans..picking weeds, looking for bugs, counting the prickers that stuck to her shirt…
I tried to get that scarf off of her..but she wasn’t having it…I decided not to push it..after all..this was her gig..her idea…we took a few pictures..we looked for lizards and picked a few wildflowers..and then she looked up..and said..”I think we’re losing light..time to go!” Off to the car she headed..as we drove away..she said..”That was a good time mommy..taking pictures…a good time.” A slight pause and then..”do you think I deserve something sweet??” Oh my gosh..she was working me..and of course, you can see by the last photo…she has me right where she wants me…she got the sweets…
And for those of you..who aren’t quite as hip as the Pip..the definition of “hot mess”…taken from the Urban Dictionary is…
“Someone or something that is such a mess… the level of it, is off of the charts. It’s past pathetic, past pitiful. It’s to the point you almost have to walk away to keep from bustin a gut. Hot messes can exist in levels.”
Example: “Girl came into school this morning looking a hot mess, her hair all jacked up and slouchin’ in house shoes.”
Honestly..not sure where she got this…but just thinking about it makes me laugh..she is a mess…but wow, how I adore her…

I’m looking for a few “fun~fresh~funky” toddlers between the ages of 2-5..to hang out with and have a little bit of fun…
The details: Must be between the ages of 2-5. Families with more than one toddler are welcome to apply…siblings will be photographed individually and together. We will do several outfit changes, so again..think..fun, funky, fresh…Parent or guardian must be willing to sign a model release giving Megan Cristello Photography permission to use the images for promotional purposes.
Session will include: Waived session fee, a $175 value, complimentary 11×14 print and 15% off of package pricing

My year…in images |Orlando Family Photographer

WOW…2008 has come to an end..so hard to believe. So much has changed, yet so much remains the same… I took some time this afternoon to gather my favorite images of the year..client work as well as some of my children… As I sit and think of all that 2008 has given me…I’m feeling so very blessed …
Blessed that I have four happy, healthy children, who put up with a photo obsessed mama, camera always in hand, and always pointing it straight at them…
Blessed that I have a very supportive husband, who has helped me pursue my passion, and who also deals w/ me on a day to day basis… during my rants..my raves..just sits back and smiles…and always “pretends” I’m right…
Blessed that I have so many fabulous friends, both online and right around the corner, who deal with my constant chatting, my wise cracks and my obsession to sit in Starbucks…
And feeling so very blessed that I have been able to share my love of photography with so many..and to all of you..I thank you, thank you for letting me in..to capture a bit of your lives..I’m so honored that you put your faith in me, and allowed me to keep that memory in time for you…I’m excited to see what 2009 has in store for me. I know it’s going to be nothing short of fabulous…
So from me to you…Happy New Year ( this is where the loud horn and confetti come in..) just close your eyes and imagine..
