fifty-two on friday ~ album cover (orlando child photographer)
I come home in the morning light … my mother says when you gonna live your life right …. Oh mother dear we’re not the fortunate ones …. girls, they want to have fun …
who doesn’t know this song and love it , being a child of the 80′s i loved Cyndi Lauper and loved this song … so of course when this weeks project was “pick a song, make a cover” … the idea came easy …and of course … only one kid could work it … my pip.
She started off a little moody, but turned it on once she saw the attention she was getting from people passing by .. telling her how cute she was, stopping to watch …. when one lady walked away, she looked at me and whispered…. “she thinks I’m a star … and one day, i will be…” no doubt in my mind baby girl. no doubt in my mind …..

Now skip over to Stephanie Moore ~Tucson Child Photographer and see what she has up for song choice/album cover ….

fifty-two on friday ~ pastel {orlando child photographer}
ahhh.. this week, pastel … i had my idea, but before i knew it… it was thursday and my day was going to be crazy busy… on top of being totally bagged, throw in a killer headache … im lucky i got done. i wanted to showcase them a little differently, and i just did the fasted editing job in the history of ever… but, hey… i got it up, and up is good. (hmmm, im kinda sounding dr. seuss-ish)
I took my pip out to the woods with 11 donuts, i bought a dozen … but somewhere along the way … one disappeared, no one has admitted to it yet, but i have my suspicions, a certain freckled-faced 6 year old boy … anyway… we got there… she was hot, she was sticky, she was thirsty …. but she worked it, the way she always does… love my girl, loving on donuts…

Now, click on over to the amazing Gina Oh-Central California Photographer and check out her pastel image….

fifty two on friday ~ texture (orlando family photographer)
ok, its late … im tired, and this is just what it is … some jelly beans, in a old jar … with some texture thrown over it. yep. that’s it … i’m not even going to try and pretend its anything but that …
One of the most frequent questions i get asked is, what textures do i use. I always use the same one… every.single.time … its from Nichole Van’s worn set and you can get it HERE … my favorite is #9 …
There is more I could say about this… i could tell you i am a perfectionist and i could tell you that i bought some little jellybeans first … bc i thought they were cute, but after photographing them … i decided that they were too dark, and i could say that i knew it was ridiculous… that i wanted to get in the car and go buy different ones, bc after all … it was just some jellybeans, in a jar, with texture thrown over it… i could tell you that i did get in the car and run to the store, and spent another $10 on bigger jelly beans, that were lighter … i could tell you that because i now have 7 bags of opened jelly beans, that i have been eating them non-stop … and i could tell you, after all that… the buying of the little ones, the running out and buying more, the reshooting of bigger beans, and eating them till i want to puke… i could tell you … that in the end… its still just jelly beans, in a jar, with some texture thrown over them … i could tell you that… but i wont.
i think its time for you to jump over to see what miss Gina Oh – Central California Photographer has going on, because clearly … I have lost my mind and Im sure whatever she has for you will be insanely fabulous …. hurry, go now… click the link, you know you want to… click.

fifty-two on friday ~ pink (orlando children’s photographer)
ok, i lied. i promised that this week i would have new images… i had it all planned out … it is actually an idea ive had spinning for quite sometime, my pip, some donuts…. in this case, pink frosted, sprinkled donuts. i went into Dunkin’ Donuts, ordered them… the guy was super nice, super helpful … said they would be ready Thursday morning…. well, i go in this morning and, ummm….. do you think they were there? NO! Im not positive, but i think i flipped on the poor girl, i wasn’t happy. They were trying to push every donut in the joint on me… lemon, strawberry, powered, chocolate frosted… and i was like NO, I need PINK! PINK! PINK! … they gave me a free coffee and bagel, ok… that softened me a tiny bit, but still …. grrrrr! Im still going to shoot it, soon… with whatever sprinkled donuts they have at the time… so watch for it.
After my mini melt down, i just said forget it… bc i knew i had another shoot that was dripping in pink, which.. i’ll admit … happens to be one of my all time faves. a little girl, some candy bling, a few felted cupcakes … and her favorite book, pinkalicious.

Pop on over to Gina Oh -Central California Photographer and see what she has posted for pink.
-

Hippie Pip… {Orlando Children’s Photographer}
Have to tell you … that at this very moment … as soon as I wrote the title of this post… the lyrics to “hippiechic” popped into my head… you know… “Got no flowers for your gun, no hippychick. Won’t make love to change your mind, no hippychick. No hippychick, no hip hip hip hip hip…” you know… ok, i’m sure some of you don’t… 90′s club song.. listen HERE … ok, moving on.
I was cleaning off my computer today and came across these images of the pip. I took them back in September of 2010 … back when the thought of blogging sent me straight to the edge… I have so many shoots that i never blogged… thought it might be a good idea to pop some of them up every now and then.
I dont even know why I took these pictures, just something to do I suppose … I do remember asking her if she wanted to play a game with mommy… fashion model. she was the model, i was the photogrpaher… and of course, if you know my girl… she was all over it. I remember as i was getting her dress, looping the fabric through her belt loops.. she said… ” this is gonna rock, i am so gonna rock this…” and of course, she did. she decided she wanted to be a moody model, full of attitude … we did get a few smiles in… at one point, i was talking to her and she threw back… ” listen, we are here to work … i’ll rock it, you take it…. ummm. ooohhhhK! When she saw me pulling these up on my screen together.. she pulled up a chair and said “I just love me” … hmmm, ain’t nothing wrong with a girl with some confidence. Anyway, she didnt last long… and this is what we got ….

And then she found the flowers… and the little shoot took on and entirely different purpose … she wanted to pick flowers for her teacher. she picked, i snapped … and snapped…. and snapped …

i just have to put it out there and say, i do realize that some of these images are over sharpened .. they were already re-sized for facebook, and for whatever reason … i sharpened them again… a really big part of me is wanting to rip them down and fix it …. but, its late, im tired, and at the moment… i just dont care …. so im just going to let it go … but, i just couldnt resist telling you that yeah, i know. and its ok.
I think ill go forget about with a bowl of frosted flakes and some pinterest pinning…
xo ~ m

fifty-two on friday ~ friendship {orlando family photographer}
Ok.ok … I had to do it again, I pulled old images for this weeks post. I had no choice, it has been raining so much, almost everyday and it just happens to be my kids spring break… so if they weren’t bouncing off the walls, driving me … CRAZY … we snuck to the beach when the sun decided to grace us with its presence…
I pulled these images of Raygan and her BFF at the time .. they were taken almost two years ago, but I love them. They are not as close as they used to be, different schools, different activities, but they are still friends. I am so glad we decided to throw this together that afternoon… and reading now, my original post… it is so true, … “life is funny, it has a way of bringing people in and out of our lives…and I’ve learned you have to make the most of it while you have it..things change..and what is today..may not be tomorrow… These words were especially meaningful for me today…
(The original post)
This past weekend Raygan had her BFF come over for a little sleep over (you’ll recognize her as the little chic with the sassy look and petti that flashes in my header)…they had the best time..as always…hot tubin’…swimming..trampoline jumpin’…movie watching…always texting..and TPing a house full of boys down the road…long, long story..but somehow, and I have no clue how this happened…but.. I ended up down the road at 1am flinging toilet paper on trees…and then, running back, giggling right along side of them….fun. The next day..after a little going’s on…they jumped on the bikes down to the courts and pond to mess a little…when they came back..they told me all about an abandon house that they found…that was just perfect for picture taking…Me, being…ummm..me…jumped in the car to go check it out…and yep, there it was..an old abandon house..right in the middle of our neighborhood..which was so bizarre…it’s just tucked back in there…but wow…how glad am I that they found it….my wheels are already turning about what I can do back there…
As we were walking around…they were pointing out all the spots that were “just perfect”..and then they came up with the idea..that they needed a photoshoot…so, I thought..sure…why not. They ran home, jumped in the shower, threw up the hair…put on a little this-n-that for outfits…and we were off.
While we were shooting…they were either giving the moody look, which Raygan thought worked for the location..or laughing hysterically…
As I was shooting these. I knew I was going to love them…and I will say I do..love them to bits…not because I think they are over-the-top, technically perfect images..but for what they represent. Two young girls…a friendship…life is funny, it has a way of bringing people in and out of our lives…and I’ve learned you have to make the most of it while you have it..things change..and what is today..may not be tomorrow…I love these pictures because it keeps a memory for these two..I have no idea what path the future will take them down ..but I do know they will always have these images…just two best friends…loving life…during the summer of 2009..

Next week I promise to have something new (thumb promise) yes, that was for you and you know who you are, i know you are smiling. Anyway, I have my idea and its happening.
Now are you ready, to jump over to check out Gina Oh-Central CA Photographer … she is ahhh-mazing!

fifty-two friday ~ game (orlando child photographer)
This week’s theme was game. I had an idea … my two playing a game of Candy Land … Adler and Piper, all the little detail shots … i love that game. the colors. the candy. the little gingerbread men game pieces, just thought it would be kinda cute …. then, all of a sudden an entire different idea popped into my head.. my boy and his jar o’ marbles. About two years ago… all he wanted for Christmas was marbles .. that was the only thing on his list.. so of course, Santa filled his stocking full of them and he was full-blown obsessed for about 6 months. We still take them out occasionally and sort them by color, by size .. and of course… flick them around. I have been wanting to do this shoot with him … forever. so glad i remembered, because it was the perfect idea for this weeks theme.

He does not enjoy our little photo play dates, but his time… he was pretty good… giving me “ideas” of shots to take … and he kept asking me if he was doing a good job. I told him we could go to dinner together .. just the two of us.. anywhere he wanted… and are you ready… of all the places this kid could pick… he picks Denny’s . He wanted pancakes and bacon … a jr. grand slam he called it… and he got it … and, it was kids eat free night… big bonus!
My boy, his marbles … and some pancakes… all in all, a pretty good night.

Now go check out the fan-freaking-tastic Gina Oh~ Central Coast CA Photographer and see what she has posted for game…. oh, and leave her some love.
